Dad Bucky x Mom reader
A short fluffy imagine, I know I’m a few days late show me mercy
You slowly rolled over to look at your husband, who was already awake of course.
“Morning love,” you smiled at him.
He didn’t respond, he just pulled you in for a tighter hug, extracting a giggle from you.
You whispered in his ear “Happy Veterans Day Love,”
He grumbled a “thank you doll” into your shoulder. Poor baby was obviously still asleep.
Suddenly the door burst open.
“Happy Veterans Day, Daddy!”
Your heart melted at the sight before you. You and Bucky’s 6 year old Rebecca and your dog Stevie Jr rushing in the room to attack your husband with hugs and puppy kisses.
Bucky groaned a bit “Thanks Becca-Bear,” he may seem grumpy, but he loved his family, more than absolutely anything in the whole world.
“Daddy I made you something!” Becca beamed, showing her missing front tooth
Bucky smiles at her. They have the same smile. How cute. “Well can I se it?”
You smiled. You knew Becca was going to make Bucky a card, but you didn’t expect this.
It was an expert-fully crafted paper American flag with 50 jagged stars and 13 perfectly crooked lines and in big black letters.
Happy Veterinarians Day!
You and Bucky exchanged a look. You rolled your lips in trying to hold back a laugh and shook your head no, signifying don’t tell her.
“I love it more than anything” He kissed Becca gently on the head “besides you” he kissed you gently on teh head “and you,” and he gives Stevie Jr a little hug “and you”
So sweet!

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Female Reader
Summary: Bucky doesn’t want you to get out of bed. Truthfully, neither do you.
Word Count: Over 600
Warnings: Cuddling, fluff, feels, mention of sex, mention of nightmares, Bucky Barnes (he’s a warning, okay?).
A/N: We all deserve cuddles. ❤️ Not beta read and written on my phone, so any and all mistakes are my own. Please follow @navybrat817-sideblog for new fics and notifications. Comments, reblogs, feedback are loved and appreciated!
Your home was quiet as your eyelids fluttered, your mind telling you to wake up as your body protested. It was early, still dark enough that light didn’t peek in through the curtains. You couldn’t risk going back to sleep though since it wouldn’t be long until you had to get ready for the day.
Sweetest way to start the day.
Pressing questions
Did medieval witches baby-talk to their familiars?
“Who be the finest rat in all of this hamlet? Be it thou? Be it thou?? Yes it be!”
Corollary question: did they come up with the same kind of brain-drivel I spit at my dog?
“I hath thine foot. It be mine now. Thou need'st the wheel of a very small ox-cart to replace thine foot.
Okay. I will lease thee thy foot, so thou no longer need'st the wheel, for I be very generous. Thou be welcome, small friend.”
Canon doesn’t vibe with these self-indulgent daydreams so unfortunately it will have to go
Yes.
So my problem with most ‘get to know your character’ questioneers is that they’re full of questions that just aren’t that important (what color eyes do they have) too hard to answer right away (what is their greatest fear) or are just impossible to answer (what is their favorite movie.) Like no one has one single favorite movie. And even if they do the answer changes.
If I’m doing this exercise, I want 7-10 questions to get the character feeling real in my head. So I thought I’d share the ones that get me (and my students) good results:
- What is the character’s go-to drink order? (this one gets into how do they like to be publicly perceived, because there is always some level of theatricality to ordering drinks at a bar/resturant)
- What is their grooming routine? (how do they treat themselves in private)
- What was their most expensive purchase/where does their disposable income go? (Gets you thinking about socio-economic class, values, and how they spend their leisure time)
- Do they have any scars or tattoos? (good way to get into literal backstory)
- What was the last time they cried, and under what circumstances? (Good way to get some *emotional* backstory in.)
- Are they an oldest, middle, youngest or only child? (This one might be a me thing, because I LOVE writing/reading about family dynamics, but knowing what kinds of things were ‘normal’ for them growing up is important.)
- Describe the shoes they’re wearing. (This is a big catch all, gets into money, taste, practicality, level of wear, level of repair, literally what kind of shoes they require to live their life.)
- Describe the place where they sleep. (ie what does their safe space look like. How much (or how little) care / decoration / personal touch goes into it.)
- What is their favorite holiday? (How do they relate to their culture/outside world. Also fun is least favorite holiday.)
- What objects do they always carry around with them? (What do they need for their normal, day-to-day routine? What does ‘normal’ even look like for them.)
